Position switches with/without safety function

Position switches are used where moving parts of machines and industrial plants have to be positioned, controlled and monitored. The various application fields ranging from fine mechanics to heavy-duty machinery require different materials, electrical capacity and quality criteria regarding construction.

Many of the position switches fulfil the requirements of the standard IEC 60947-5-1. The position switches with safety function are suitable for sliding, hinged and particularly removable safety guards, which need to be closed to ensure the necessary operational security. All position switches with safety function achieve max. PL e to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 to EN 62061 by means of a suitable guard door monitor.

On the position switches with safety function, the guard device and the positive break NC contact are positively linked. Different applications require individual solutions. The design details in relation to body dimensions, materials, electrical loading capacity, rated values and quality characteristics are to a great extent determined by the variety of applications, from precision mechanics to heavy engineering. A large variety of actuators complements the programm.

Different versions with snap action or slow action are available.
